I am standing as a candidate in the 2026 By-Election with Forward Guernsey.
I grew up in a States house, was raised by a single parent and went on to build a successful local business. I know first-hand the challenges islanders face - and the opportunities Guernsey can offer. I want to use my experience in business and the voluntary sector to help build an island that can address today’s challenges while investing in its future.Through my volunteering and community work, I have seen first-hand the challenges many islanders face. I am standing for Deputy to represent those real-life experiences in the States. Because government should never lose sight of the people it serves.
TAX REFORM AND GOVERNMENT SAVINGS
With the ongoing cost of living crisis and geopolitical uncertainties, any tax reform package adopted by the States must protect lower and middle income households and produce a fairer tax system.Raising taxes should be a last resort after the pursuit of economic growth and efficiency in the public service. If elected, I would hold all my colleagues to account in delivering the 1% real terms annual reduction in public expenditure for the remainder of the term, approved by the States in January.
PROTECTING TAX PAYER'S MONEY
The failed MyGov and Revenue Service projects have shown that the States needs to manage capital projects more effectively. I would support introducing a Capital Projects Board to bring in local expertise and improve delivery of major projects, as set out in Forward Guernsey’s manifesto.
A FAIRER GUERNSEY
I support the current review of States relocation packages. We must ensure fairness for locally qualified front-line staff and reduce pressure on the rental market for all.I would support measures to improve employment practices, including statutory protection for whistle-blowers and stronger action against modern slavery.A fairer Guernsey must also be a safer Guernsey. I would back establishing a Violence Against Women and Girls (VAWG) taskforce to inform a coordinated government response to VAWG.
